If you dont read anything else, read this:Do not ever force the door closed. The door closes automatically when the tubing has been snapped in place and the run button is pushed. If the door will not close easily, most likely the tubing is not snapped into place. The only time you should ever have to close the door is if you are storing the UltraCut. If you force the door you risk damaging the door assembly and the language you will be using is probably inappropriate for polite instructions. The first time you use the UltraCut: Lubrication - Its always a good idea to spray a very thin lubricant, such as WD-40, on the head when you begin cutting. Just give it a quick spritz and wipe off any that gets on the handle. This keeps the head clean and the light lube can significantly improve performance faster cut times and more cuts on a charge. Quick Start Take a few minutes to get the hang of using it. Once you get it, it will be easy.
Changing tubing sizeThis is another process where, once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. First turn the power off. Open the door. It is important to pull the button straight out and keep it in that position as you move it to the other size. Some folks find it easier to guide the roller assembly with a finger but please, only do this if the power is off. Make sure the button is sitting all the way down in the slot before trying to use the cutter. Jams and overloads The UltraCut is designed to shut off automatically if something jams the head. If this happens the light will go out and the tool will appear dead. Turn the power switch off, clear whatever jammed, wait a few seconds and turn the power switch back on. The light will go back on and you will be ready to go. It is possible on certain kinds of thicker walled tubing to create an overload if the tool is in continuous use. Normally when you use a tubing cutter, there is a delay every few cuts for measuring, etc., so we do not anticipate this being a problem in average use. If the tool shuts down in this case, turn the power off, wait a few seconds and turn the power back on. Everything should be fine. I am ready to go but nothing happens First, make sure the battery is charged. Out of the box it might not be. If you have a problem, it is good to put the battery in the charger for a good 16 hours--not just wait for the green light. When you have the battery in the tool, you should be able to see the arrow in its base pointing forward. If you see three silver buttons, you have the battery in upside down. Turn on the power button. The light comes on. The tool runs with no battery in it This is how it is intended to operate. If you are done using the tool, turn off the power switch. The tool runs for a little bit but has no power and then stops Make sure there is a battery in it and it is inserted properly. You should be able to see the arrow in the battery base pointing forward. If you see three silver buttons, you have the battery in upside down. We cannot tell you how many times the development team tried to test the tool and forgot to put in the battery. If the battery is in correctly, try a spray of light lubricant like WD-40. I put ½ tubing in the tool but it will not snap in First make sure the UltraCut is set to the ½ position. Second, make sure you have ½ plumbing tubing. It actually has a larger outside diameter than ½. ½ refrigeration tubing is smaller and will not work. FAQs Quick Start Product Demo Owners Page
